This is Global Blue which is a company which guides customers to help with tax-free shopping. I decided on this company for my research for this case study as the colour relates to the colour scheme that I am using for my re brand.

This colour works well as it is bold, contrasts well against the white background which is good for accessibility reasons and the typography is also easily readable too.

Main Colour pallet

This is the main colour pallet which is used. This can be found on their logo and most of the different areas on their website for example:

These colours are shown on the header and footer of their website to which having this as the main colour can attract users attention to these parts of the page. I know when I was looking at it the header and footer were my main point of interest when looking at it.

Secondary Colour pallet

These are some brighter secondary colours that are present within smaller sections of their website such as:

Using this secondary colour pallet is a great way to highlight parts of the website that can be clicked/ having greater importance/ Separating sections.

This is a great way to make the website flow better with having the different sections highlighted with different colours as just having the blue would mold together and the user wouldn’t know what areas they can look at/click on for the information that they need.

Overall: This brand was a great one to look at for having a similar main colour pallet to mine. I enjoyed looking at what ways they have separated their website into different sections by being able to use different colours.

I like the fact I changed my word mark to an all blue colour as it really does work the best especially against a plain background. Since I had a pastel green in my word mark before I am planning on using that as the start of my secondary colour pallet especially when re creating the app. With researching Global Blue I have realised how important colour is to for the user and also the importance of a secondary colour pallet especially when creating a website/app.
