A direct Competitor to Libraries Ni would be the Linen Hall Library which is right across from City Hall, Belfast.

I did not use the ‘Brand New’ website to find this as I wasn’t able to find a direct competitor on that website so I went out and found my own for this case study!

The Linen Hall library is a privately owned library to which it is funded by its members who pay a subscription to support it. This is the downside to this library as to take a book out you have to pay a subscription unlike Libraries NI to which it is free to take books out.

It is free however, to go in and study, read books or just have an overall look around at the architecture and old historic books.

There are obviously other direct competitors to Libraries such as book stores but I felt that this one related the most as they are in close proximity to a Libraries NI.

I decided to include all the various prices of memberships there are for customers to purchase. I do think for a library membership it is expensive but it does work well as customers want to study/ read a book there due to its environment and how peaceful it is. I do have to say from visiting there myself it is a very beautiful library and I would definitely want to study there. Their environment draws customers in and they market this very well.

Overall: This library has done the environment and look of it very well, the only downside to it is the fact that customers have to pay for a membership to be able to borrow book and return them.

I chose this as my research as my main aim for my own re brand is to create an atmosphere similar to what the Linen Hall library is like. old, earthy and interesting to everyone that goes in there. I do enjoy the fact they have old history book and family tree book available to anyone to look at in the library which is a great way to draw more customers in and to have access to learning more things.
