I discovered the NASA brand guidelines recently to which they have a whole pdf document on the various colours, logo, typography and different information on the brand itself. This document is one that I will be taking the most inspiration from as it is very similar to what I have to create.

For the Nasa word mark they have used the Helvetica typeface, which is bold, accessible and commonly used. This typeface can be present on signs and it very popular around New York. It works well from far away so I’m not surprised NASA used it for their signature typeface.

This is the well-known logo that NASA created, this is shown in its most simple form which is modern and fits well with the company itself and their goals. Their logo has character and it easy to recognise from far away.

This is the colour that NASA uses, it is unique to their brand as it is always shown with their logo, it is bold and it just works very well with their word mark and their brand all together, I like the fact in these brand guidelines they have included what the logo looks like in various colours and they also included swatches of the colour (shown above) as it really gives users the chance to understand the brand itself and understand why they used that particular colour and what it properly looks like.

Along with their logo/wordmark NASA has special patches that they use for mission that have happened and also seals for letters, this is a good way to have a personalised feel and something special especially for the trips.
