What does it look like?

This is the app that they have for library users, I feel that it isn’t the most effective app and could be deemed confusing for users. Firstly the app appearance isn’t the best, the icons have different thicknesses and the colour just is not that inviting.

The overall use of the app is simple but it is just quite boring. I do however, like the fact that I am able to see the nearest library to me which is a great addition to this app as it means I don’t have to look up where it is.

What would I do to improve this?

I would take many steps to improve this app however, I felt the best way for me to write all this down would be to do a mind map:

• Make the icon thickness consistent
• Link Google maps to locate the nearest library to the user
• Make the app more appealing to users like changing the colours to match my word mark colours
• Add more things to the ‘tab’ bar or move it to make it fit in with the app appearance

These were just some of the basic things that I would change to make the app appearance and usage better for the user, I will explore this more over the next couple of weeks to see how I will make this app easier to use!
