Different Libraries

I wanted to go around different libraries and see what they had to offer. I decided to go to the ulster university library which privately owned and then I went to 2 public libraries one in Belfast and another in Bangor which are both owned by LibrariesNI.

UU Library (1)

Belfast Public Library (LibrariesNI) (1)

Bangor Public Library (LibrariesNI) (1)

How are these different?

After exploring the 3 different libraries I noticed that they differed from each other. The UU library has a lot of work space areas which the Bangor Library also has but the Belfast Library lacks in this area.

The book selection in the Bangor and UU library has an extensive book selection whereas the Belfast library does not. I find this quite interesting as the Belfast and Bangor libraries are both owned by LibrariesNI I would think that they would both have a similar book selection but they very much differ in this aspect.

However, I do think the location of all of these libraries are accessible to most people as they are situated in the center of Belfast and Bangor. The Bangor library can be harder to access parking as it is located at the edge of Ward Park and cars find it hard to get in and out of, This seems to be the only real ‘flaw’ that the Bangor library has as looking at the reviews and being there myself it is definitely the best public library owned by LibrariesNI that I have been to.

Overall, these libraries have different things to offer but since exploring all of them the Bangor library is the best out of the 3. It has the wide workspace areas and a wide book selection which the other 2 libraries lacked in some way, this was a good way for me to see how I can improve some of these in my rebrand!
